Born and raised in Hong Kong, Amimi Cheng's illustration work is often inspired by her curiosity about human relationships within the hectic city life. The interactions and behaviours between different people have always captivated and drove her to be observant of her surroundings. She enjoys illustrating stories to express her most personal insight into everyday situations. Amimi also has a passion for enhancing community bonding through art. She worked with community partners such as National University Hospital, O'Joy Care Services, Phoenix Clubhouse and Pier-2 Art Centre in facilitating art making sessions and providing art mentorship to empower individuals and express their narratives through visual art.
Amimi is also currently practising as a Registered Art Therapist (AThR). She is credentialed through The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA). Combining her experience in visual storytelling and art therapy training, Amimi hopes to provide emotional supports and enrich individuals when they go through different stages of life.
